Restaurant Review:
Stock Exchange

Roda Al Murooj Dubai
Downtown Dubai

Stock Exchange, located at the Roda Al Murooj Hotel in Downtown Dubai, was essentially just a lounge and bar; that is until Chef Pradeep Khullar of Jodhpur fame took over! A little bit about the place first, Stock Exchange is built on a unique concept that stays true to its name. Akin to an actual stock exchange, prices of the drinks fluctuate based on demand. With Chef Khullar at the helm though, you can now pair your drinks with some interestingly enjoyable fare. Here’s everything we had at our recent tasting:

  • Chili Cheese Baguette: Crunchy Toasted Baguette Topped Up With Mixture Made With Rest Of The Ingredients & Grilled Under A Salamander Till Cheese Melts.
  • Mirchi Imli Lamb Chops, Blue Chips: 4 Hours Cooked Lamb Chops, Flash Fried & Coated In Glaze Made Up With Chilly Paste & Tamarind Pulp, Served With Blue Cheese Fries.
  • Aloo & Cheddar Tikki Chaat: Over Base Of Crispy White Peas, Crispy Patties Made Of Potatoes & Cheddar Cheese, Topped Up With Trio Of Chutneys & Aloo Salli
  • Desi Aloo Tikki Sliders: Pink & Black Coloured Tiny Burgers (Better Known As Sliders) Loaded With Aloo Tikki & Onion Slices.
  • 2 Minutes Wild Mushroom Noodles: 2 Minute Noodles Sautéed With Browned Mushrooms & Garlic, Drizzled With Truffle Oil.
  • Dark Chocolate Rum Ball: Dark Chocolate Sponge Bound With Chocolate Sauce & Surrounded By Valrhona Sauce, Flambéed With Dark Rum.

Lamb lovers, you will rejoice when you sink your teeth into the Mirchi Imli Lamb Chops with Blue Cheese fries! Blue cheese and lamb make for the perfect combination and the slight touch of Indian flavors enhanced the dish even further. With respect to texture, presentation and taste, this dish was plain perfect. While the chili cheese baguette was a simple yet delicious treat that one of us couldn’t get enough of, the Aloo and cheddar tikki chaat tickled the fancy of the other half! The sliders were the only dish that fell short of expectations despite how great they looked. Some extra garnish and zests would have helped according to us. The Rum Ball was a fitting end to the meal, especially for the chocolate connoisseurs, and

  • Jacked Up (Alcoholic): Jack Daniel, Gin, Midori, Pineapple Juice, Lime Juice, and Sugar Syrup.
  • Vodka Flaming Breeze (Alcoholic): Vodka, Blue Curacao, Absinthe, Lime Juice, Sugar Syrup
  • Passion Fruit Virgin Mojito (Non-Alcoholic): Fresh Passion Fruit, Lime, Fresh Mint, topped up with Lemonade
  • Kala Khatta Daiquiri (Non-Alcoholic): Black Currant Pulp, Sugar Syrup and Lime Juice, Black Salt

The drinks were quite attention-grabbing as well but the one that really excited us, predominantly because it was something that brought back memories of childhood treats was the Kala Khatta Daiquiri. Absolutely loved it and it was unanimous that all the drinks we were served perfectly complemented the food.

The revamped Stock Exchange brings forth a unique twist to the usual, basic bar food and with its fun concept, makes for a great place to head to with your pals for a fun weekend night out.
